Our friend Rafa sent us a blend of Nukini Roses from the Nukini Indians of Brazil.

This rapé is traditional from the Nukini tribe of Brazil, it is made from the ashes of the sacred Samauma tree, which are added to strong Moi tobacco (the strongest type of Mapacha tobacco) and dry white rose powder to create a very special blend. The Samauma or Kapok tree, botanically (Ceiba pentandra) of the mallow family (Malvaceae) is one of the largest trees in the Amazon. The Nukini Indians believe that this tree is one of the greatest guardians and protectors of the jungle (see rapé Katukina Samauma).

Nukini Indian Tribe

Along the lush green banks of the Poa River lives a very special group of people, an Indian tribe known as the Nukini. Their language comes from the Pano language family. The tribe numbers only 900 people and inhabits the deepest of the Amazon in the Acre region.
