Lemon balm is a plant from the lamiaceae family. It originates from the Mediterranean, but is found throughout Europe. Lemon balm is commonly found in the wild. People grow lemon balm as a medicine and as a spice.

citronellol, geraniol, caryophyllene, linalool and other terpenes, bitters, essential oils, mucilaginous substances, flavonoids and minerals
Effects
The most pronounced effect is a calming (sedative) effect. Therefore, lemon balm can be used well in case of irritation or stress. It can also be used during the day for good mood and positive thinking. Calming down is one of the prerequisites for quality sleep, and therefore lemon balm is also excellent for use shortly before bedtime. Lemon balm also supports normal digestion and normal thyroid function. It has antibacterial properties and can also be used against spasms, especially stomach spasms. It is used for colds as part of herbal mixtures, thanks to the fact that it helps to reduce cough and relieve pain.
