Damiana is a shrub from the passion fruit family. It is a shrub about 3 meters high, which grows well in warm savannas. It is commonly grown in southern North America and is actively grown in Africa, but is relatively difficult to grow. It has been known for millennia, the original inhabitants of North America have traditionally used it mainly for its aphrodisiac effects, the infusion was called a “love potion”. It has also traditionally been used by the Mayan Empire Indians for colds, as it facilitates coughing, among other things. Leaves are used.
Effects
Aphrodisiac: Damiana is used to stimulate libido, treat impotence in both men and women, female frigidity or prostate problems. Improves the experience of a love act for both sexes.
Stimulant: Used to encourage mental work and to set a good mood. Damiana can be well combined with Ginkgo biloba or Gotu Kola, available here -> shredded / powder. The result of both combinations is a very strong stimulant.
Antibacterial
Damiana has a very unique property: It can disinfect the bladder, which is caused by the content of a substance called arbutin, essential oils, phenolic glycosides and terpenes. It is therefore suitable for the treatment of urinary tract inflammation. Other effects: Stimulates appetite and improves hormonal balance. It can be used to treat constipation or other digestive problems. It can be used to treat depression and apathy.
Use
An infusion from damiana. One teaspoon is poured into a quarter liter of boiling water and left to stand for 15 minutes. To enhance the effects, the decoction can be boiled for 1 minute. It is interesting that damiana can also be smoked or vaporized.
Notice: Damiana should not be used by pregnant or breast-feeding women or children.
