Japanese tea ceremony
The Japanese and Chinese have been using cast iron kettles for centuries to brew their finest teas, adding style and elegance to their homes. The tea ceremony is a moment of peace and relaxation during our busy daily lives.
Tetsubin cast iron kettles are traditionally popular for their elegant design and ability to retain heat for a long time. The heat is evenly distributed throughout the cast iron teapot to better extract the flavor of the tea. This cast iron kettle will also ensure that tea stays hot for longer.

Instructions for use of the Tetsubim cast iron teapot
When using the kettle for the first time, put 5-10 grams of tea into the tea filter, add water to the kettle and boil for about 10 minutes to remove the peculiar smell of the new kettle. After boiling, pour out the water out of the pot and repeat 2-3 times until the water is clean and odorless.
A suitable heat source for an iron kettle is a charcoal fire. Electric heaters, induction cookers and gas cookers can also be used. For daily use, fill water to about 80% of volume to prevent overflow during cooking.
After about 5 days of using the iron kettle, scarlet spots will appear on the inner wall, and white spots will appear in about 10 days. This is normal, if the water is not cloudy, it will not affect the taste.
After each use, empty the water completely and then wipe the kettle with a dry soft cloth, do not leave the water in the kettle overnight to reduce possible rusting of the kettle
Maintenance
This cast iron teapot is cast from crude iron and may rust. Rust on cast iron is not harmful to human health, but if you feel that the rust spots are unsightly, you can remove the rust using the following methods:
1. Removing rust with alum: Fill the kettle with water, add about 50 grams of alum, boil for 10 minutes, then wipe the inside repeatedly with a brush or rag.
2. Cleaning with Vinegar: Vinegar is the most commonly used agent for removing minerals and rust. If there is a mineral sediment or rust on the kettle, pour some vinegar inside, add water to boil and brush while boiling to quickly remove the rust (be careful not to burn your hands!).
3. Soak a chopped onion, freshly peeled potato or radish skin in a little salt and rub vigorously on the rusty area to easily remove rust from the iron kettle. After use, you must keep the pot dry and do not pour cold water into it while it is hot (sudden thermal shock can break your pot).
