They have been used since the Middle Ages, they have their place in the traditional Indian medicine, they grow all over the tropical belt. In India, ground fruit and cow milk are used to make a traditional aphrodisiac drink that has been consumed during tantric ceremonies. In Brazil, fruits from Mucuna are used for intestinal problems and to treat impotence. In Guatemala and Mexico, a coffee substitute from roasted and ground fruits called “Nescafé” is prepared. Velvet beans are traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat Parkinson’s disease.

Preparation

The optimal amount is 1 – 2 beans (1.5 – 3 grams), beans are crushed and poured into 250 ml of hot water and left to stand for 7 – 10 minutes. You can use it twice a day.
