The production process in a nutshell

Hammered singing bowls are made exclusively by hand. Each singing bowl is carefully hammered by hand, which requires several steps. First, a mixture of raw metals (copper, tin, nickel, zinc, iron, lead, silver and mercury) is melted in a furnace. The hot molten metal is removed from the furnace and poured into various sized sprue cups and cube castings. The castings are then rolled into circular sheets of the required size and thickness. The sheets are then hammered to precise measurement specifications and sorted by weight and size. For the hammering process, 4 to 5 sheets are stacked on top of each other and then heated to a very high temperature. A group of skilled craftsmen beat the red-hot sheets until they cool. This process is repeated several times to create the desired size and shape of each singing bowl. After hammering out the desired shape of the bowl, each bowl is adjusted and shaped. Finally, the bowl is smoothed and possibly decorated with engraving. The handmade production is the reason for the slightly different size of the individual singing bowls.
