Mapacho is a folk name for a specific species of a tobbaco plant – the Nicotiana Rustica variety. It is considered a sacred herb by natives and it is said to be one of the best teacher plants. The entire South America views Mapacho as the main healing and ceremonial guide. It is usually applied both at the beginning and during various ceremonies. Our Mapacho is grown organically, without chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Mapacho has been grown for 8000 years and it was one of the first cultivated plants in its homeland in Andes mountains in South America, then Europeans started to spread it all over the world.

Cultivation

Mapacho is grown in a traditional way by a specialized master shamans which are called “tabaqueros”. There is a lot of don’ts in the process of growing the plant as the process is considered to be sacred. Mapacho seeds are planted to the suitable soil while the shaman is taking care of them like they were his children. He is hand picking insects out of plant’s leaves, talking to it, singing to it. After the leaves are harvested, they are shaped into a thick roll. It is wrapped with a rope from an organic material and the roll is hanged above a fire where it gradually matures.

Effects

Mapacho is a medicinal herb with many uses. It brings us clear and pure masculine energy. It opens gates for healing and flow of energy. It immediately grounds and harmonizes. Mapacho cleanses, restores the balance between the feminine and the masculine side in us, it strenghtens the connection to the core, to the Heart, to the “I am” consciousness. We can better connect to Gaia and her elements through Mapacho. This herb is also known for its ability to clear up heavy and dense energy from the energetical field including the negative, cyclical mental patterns. Mapacho helps to restore balance and clarity in body, spirit and mind.

Storage

Mapacho roll: It is recommended to keep Mapacho in a room temperature in a dark and dry place, wrapped in a paper tissue so that a tobacco roll can breath. A clean and dry fridge is also a viable option.

Mapacho water extract: If you prepare more extract than you can use immediately, store the rest in a fridge. It is possible to reuse the leaves two or three times. It is recommended not to use extracts older than one week.

An entire roll weighs approximately 800 grams. For a beginner we recommend approximately 50 grams at once.
