Rapé Pau Pereira is an excellent quality rapé from the Katukina tribe in Brazil, our friend Rafa from Brazil sent it to us. The bark of a tree called Pau Pereira is added to the strong Mapacho (Nicotiana rustica). Subjectively, it is one of the strongest types of rapé we have on offer, along with Cacau and Kuntanawa Ayahuasca rapé. It’s suitable for more experienced users.
Rapé Pau Pereira and Tsunu come from one tree, Platycyamus regnelii from the legume family (Fabaceae), it is a tropical tree 10-20 meters high, it has been used for millennia by the Indian tribes Katukina, Yawanawa, Huni Kuin, Shanenawa, Shawandawa and Puyanawa from the Brazilian Amazon (Acre).
Different parts of the tree Platycyamus regnelii are used and therefore two different names are used. Pau Pereira is traditionally referred to as tree bark ash, Tsunu is prepared from tree wood ash. The bark ash of the Platycyamus regnelii (Pau Pereira) contains more alkaloids and they remain active even after burning. Rapé Pau Pereira is usually stronger than Tsunu, but the resulting strength also depends very much on the strength of the tobacco used to make the medicine. Indians usually make both rapés at the same time, from one tree. Wood is used to prepare Tsunu and only bark for Pau Pereira. As a result, Tsunu tends to be softer and Pau Pereira to be stronger.
Pau Pereira’s bark is used not only to prepare rapé, but the people of the Amazon also know other uses. Pau Pereira bark tea is very cleansing and works similarly to iboga, detoxifying the body and mind. When the natives get sick, they often drink cleansing tea from Pau Pereira’s bark.
Rapé Pau Pereira
Rapé Pau Pereira supports the purification of our energy field, the so-called aura. Rapé Pau Pereira generates more energy and heat in the body than other types of rapé do.
Rapé Pau Pereira is also very suitable as part of starting or ending ceremonies with other natural medicines (such as Ayahuasca or Kambo). The power of the Pau Pereira / Tsunu tree accompanies the anchoring of the highest spiritual energies. Due to the fact that Pau Pereira supports the anchoring and flow of energy, today it is also used by the indigenous people of the Brazilian Amazon, for example during hunting or also during leisure activities such as playing football …
The effects of rapé Pau Pereira are really very diverse, rapé connects us with the joy and wisdom of Mother Earth, supports physical and spiritual immunity.
The stronger rapé is, the more it will wake you up and make you change for better and your life richer. Rapé Pau Pereira is one of the “living jewels” and we are very happy that our friend Rafa provided us with this medicine.

Conscious use – ritual
Rapé is a sacred Amazonian instrument, and the indigenous tribes pass it on to us with this message: “The use of rapé should always be associated with prayer or ritual and accepted or given in respect and humility, it will be very helpful if a clear intention is added. The effects and realization of the plan will thus be intensified.”
