Wormwood (artemisia absinthium), shredded
€ 6.30 – € 63.30 incl. VAT
Wormwood is one of our native medicinal plants, it has rich effects on the digestive system, it is antispasmodic and antiparasitic, acts against colds and flu and much more.
Wormwood (scientific name artemisia absinthium) is one of the most used medicinal plants. Thin, not yet fully blossomed stems are collected. Wormwood is a perennial, bitterly aromatic, up to 120 cm tall, silver hairy herb from the Asteraceae family. It produces rich inflorescences from tiny yellow florets. The leaves and flowering non-woody stem are used for pharmaceutical purposes. Its name is possibly derived from the name of the river goddess Artemis. It is also possible that it is derived from the Greek word artemés, meaning fresh or healthy. In Slavic countries, it is well-known and it had a number of names.
Preparation
Prepare the tea by pouring 1 teaspoon of wormwood over 1/4 liter of boiling water, cover and let it brew for 10 minutes. It is taken 2 times a day, unsweetened to stimulate appetite, 1/2 hour before a meal, in case of digestive problems after a meal.
