Purple passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) is a fast-growing perennial climbing plant with large flowers, the stem reaches a length of up to 6 meters. It commonly grows in the southern United States.

Uses

Dried and fresh whole plants are used. The usual therapeutic use is for general sedation and quality of life and for insomnia problems. Purple passionflower fruit has an excellent relaxing effect, it causes well-being during physical or mental stress. An infusion from Purple passionflower is a good aid in treating insomnia problems, we recommend a treatment 2-3 weeks long.

Preparation of infusion

Measure 2 – 5 g of dried herb, pour 0.5 liter of boiling water and let stand for 10-15 minutes. It is recommended to drink 3 times a day, the last infusion is drunk before bedtime (not in large amounts).
