Palo Santo means holy wood. This name refers to several types of wood that are valued for medical or ceremonial reasons. This name is used in Peru and Ecuador for the tree Bursera graveolens. It has been used by healers and shamans for ages to treat various ailments.
The oil is obtained by steam distillation without the use of chemical additives. For the production of Palo santo oil, no living trees are cut, only dead trees are used, when they fall down by themselves.
