The calabash can be made of different materials, traditionally in South America gourds were hollowed out, but of course you can also drink maté from ceramic or metal calabash.
In addition to a calabash, to drink maté you’ll need a stainless steel straw, which is called a bombilla.
The Yaguar Gatito is a ceramic calabash for maté with an original design – its shape resembles the head of a jaguar, the majestic king of the Amazon jungle.
