Iboga (Tabernanthe iboga) is a perennial rainforest shrub used as a halucinogen and a stimulant for addictions treatment, for decreasing depressions, for the communication with the spiritual world and other uses. In western African tribes the bark is chewed ritually (Bwiti tradition). Small doses of Iboga stimulate the central nervous system, large doses induce hallucinations.

Ibogain, the active alkaloid, was discovered in 1901. In 1920’s it was recommended as a stimulant for treating the neurasthenia, in the thirties in France an extract from iboga was called “Lambaréné”. The science found out about its hallucinogenic effects and it was banned in the sixties after the global  war on drugs has started.

This Iboga products are prepared from 20-years old and older Iboga trees. In comparison with our other product Tabernanthe Iboga “from aunt Ebando” (30-50 years) this 20-years old iboga is a little low potent, you need to eat it more to have similar effect. But it works of course also 🙂
